My love affair with the sea began with its scent.

I was six when I first saw the sea: an endless blue expanse which, to my childhood amazement, had no shore on the other side.

I was six. We noticed the scent of the sea and the wind first; then we saw the blue water with no opposite shore.

How is nobody shouting about this?

In 2016 I first heard about cruise holidays. A ship that is also your hotel. A different place every morning, without packing your suitcase every day. Restaurants, pools, evening shows and the sea outside the window.

I could not believe this way of travelling existed and nobody talked about it at every opportunity. Honestly — why was nobody shouting about how good it was?

The wake behind the ship still has the same effect on me.

First cruise? Straight in with the children

In 2017 we chose TUI Mein Schiff and the Arabian Gulf. The children were almost two and four, my husband was worried about seasickness, and I could not wait for the ship to finally move.

There was a delayed departure, a dramatic ‘Ola, this is a nightmare’, a casino without a poker table, and an enchanted two-year-old at the window. That was when I knew it would not be our last cruise.

Then things got slightly out of hand

In the best possible way, of course.

We took three cruises in a single year. First came the Arabian Gulf. Then Europe with MSC and my husband’s parents — because they deserved to know how wonderful it was too. In winter, we took my parents on a fifteen-day Caribbean cruise with AIDA.

Later came the Canary Islands with AIDA, Alaska with Cunard and another European cruise with MSC — this time with friends. How could they never have been on a cruise either?

Why did I create Morze Rejsów?

Because there should be more travel in life — and even more cruises.

This world is too beautiful to experience only through photographs. There are so many seas I have yet to see, ports I want to revisit and ships worth discovering.

I also know how overwhelming the first choice can be. Which cruise line? Which ship? Will the children be bored? Will it be rough? What does the price actually include? Balcony or inside cabin? And why do two nearly identical offers stop looking identical once every cost is included?

That is why I created Morze Rejsów: to help you find a small number of cruises that suit your family, budget and way of travelling.
